Comeback Shot Down

Seasons over.
Bulls Lose.
More Coming Later

History in the Making

Tonight the Chicago Bulls try to continue their impressive comeback from down 3-0 attempting to tie up the series and bring it to a game 7 in Detroit. The Bulls are looking to become the first team in NBA history to go down 3-0 in a series and come back and win it.
The starting lineups will be the usual for the Bulls with Hinrich at the point, Gordon at SG, Deng at SF, PJ at PF, and Big Ben at center. The lineup will be no different for the visiting Pistons as well. The game will start at 7:00 PM on ESPN and Comcast SportsNet from the UC.
Go Bulls!

The Bulls shocked the world by bringing this to a game 6 which will be Thursday Night at home.
The Bulls are looking to become to first team in NBA history to come back from a series down 3-0 to win it.
The game:

Bulls/Pistons Game 5

So we live to see another day but how about one more at the UC? As I said before, if we win this game we are right back in this series bringing it back to Chicago for game 6.
This will be one tough game and we have to give it our all. Send the Pistons fans home pissed off thinking this series is not over yet.

Game Time: 7:00 PM
Location: The Palace
Network: TNT

Take it one step at a time

Bulls stay alive tonight and played well. As I have been saying we really need to consider starting Tyrus Thomas game 5 over Grandpa Brown. I missed like the whole second half because I had to run and ended up getting in a car crash in the act. Don't worry I am okay but my car is kind of messed up. Good to know the Bulls did not completely ruin my day.
Game 5 will be in Detroit at 7:00 Tuesday. If we end up winning that game we come back to Chicago for game 6 giving us a real chance at making history.

Golden State Warriors Or Utah Jazz

Now that the Chicago Bulls season is on the verge of ending it comes up a question. Are you rooting for the Cinderella Golden State Warriors (George Mason) or are you rooting for the local guys on the Utah Jazz (Illinois). Dee Brown and Deron Williams former Illini stars are real raising some eyebrows this postseason and some are even saying Williams may be one of the best guards in the NBA in a few years. Personally I could care less who wins this series. Whoever wins I and the rest of the world will root for in the Western Conference Finals. Most people think the winner of the Suns/Spurs series will go on to win it all but I would watch out for these too teams.

For the Bulls it is make history or we're history. A loss means we go fishing. A win means we stay alive one more night. A win would bring it back to Detroit for game 5 and a win there would bring it back to Chicago where we may have a chance.
Let's play this one game at a time and see where we go. Possibly according to Ben Wallace we still have a chance in this series and we will not give up.

Something that will make us feel better?

You got it another soon-to-be classic Youtube video and Bull Horns is one of the first sites to give it to you. Maybe to get the Bulls recent suckiness of your mind.

I am so depressed....

So I am going to let Matt from Blog-A-Bull do the talking.

Topic: Anyone want tickets to game 4?

Man, Sunday's game will be like a freaking wake. I guess I won't have anything better to do...

I watched at a bar tonight so it was tough to get a full gauge of the collapse, but if anything the 2nd half reaffirms what the first two blowouts told us: this team is far far away from contention.

There is no implied destiny involved with these losses. The NBA doesn't work where you lose in the first round a couple years, then the second round a year, and eventually you get to the Finals. It worked that way 20 years ago because they had Michael Jordan. It doesn't work that way for every young team, and the history of the league is littered with abandoned young squads that once had the promise but never made it. The whole situation needs to be re-evaluated, not just because they've lost, but how every time Detroit wanted to put them away they simply did, making this talent gap seem pretty vast. If it takes minor tweaks (plus internal development) or a more thorough overhaul is up to Pax, but we can feel reassured to know that from what he's told the media Pax himself isn't satisfied with this cute fun little team he's assembled.

In comparison to the roster, I don't think the coach is as much of the problem, but for tonight Skiles wasn't part of the solution either. After getting contributions from Tyrus and Thabo in the first half, they were completely benched in the second. Thankfully our man Duh got a DNP tonight, but even with the starters in the game for most of the second half Skiles bizarrely didn't make any substitutions until the lead was slipping away, and only then it was Nocioni (And if this series hasn't proved the need for Noc to go, I don't know what does) who came in after Tyrus was the first big off the bench in the first half. In a series where you're out-manned it takes some risks to try and get an edge, and I think everybody was willing to accept the risk of playing rookies whereas Skiles was hoping just to stick with his guys until the bitter end. It was a play-not-to-lose strategy that can't be used in a game that was firmly in control. They had to make it a blowout in the third so the Pistons would pack it in for the night. Once they were let back into the game it was already lost, because they simply use their possessions better.

But a bigger problem than the frontcourt rotation is their supposed star perimeter players, of whom you can't think leads to a championship after such an abysmal stretch in that half. The problem with 'ball-movement' offense is that it gives the ball opportunity to find the other team. It'd be nice for a few possessions to find one player to give the ball to and just let him create, as in the boring yet effective isolation NBA basketball. I had thought Gordon was the type to be that guy but he's been extremely disappointing all series, and like the rest of the team he had a great first half only to fall back towards mediocrity after that. Perhaps a team better than mediocre can beat most of the teams in the league. But it's not good enough to beat a team playing at an elite level, and while there's incremental success this season it does not imply that the Bulls ever get to that same pinnacle.

Bulls/Pistons Game 3

Game 3 is a very important game considering the fact no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA playoffs. Hopefully returning home will do the trick and will tie this series up 2-2 going back to Detroit. One loss may be the dagger on this wonderful season. We got beat down by the Pistons on Monday night. This will be an odd late game for us because the game is going to start at 8:00 PM for some odd reason. Not sure why we can't start the game at 7:00 or 7:30 because ESPN has a hour of NBA Shootaround before the game. Nevertheless the later the better since most people we be home at this time. The game will also be seen on Comcast SportsNet so you get an extra dose of Stacey King. "Go ahead and roll it. Freeze It!. Stop It!. Sefalossssssssha!" and an extra dose of Johnny Red Kerr (*Cough, Cough, Cough*) and an extra dose of Tom Dore (zzzzzzzzzz) I guess the majority will watch the ESPN edition and pray we get Hubie Brown and Mike Trico rather than Bill Walton.

GO BULLS!

Bulls/Pistons Game 2

As I said in the last post this is one important game.
Nothing can be worse than our 69 point effort on Saturday. The game is scheduled for Monday at 7:00 PM on TNT in Detroit. GO BULLS

This one hurts

Tonight's loss was one of the worst efforts I have seen out of a Bulls team since the dark days in 1999. We got 69 points tonight and only 12 points in the 4th quarter. We came out with absolutely no energy at all and basically embarrassed ourselves. It proves we are not a good team coming out after a week long break. Hopefully we will come out Monday night ready to fight in game 2 which will be a very important game. A win gives us momentum...a loss basically puts the icing on our season cake.

Round 2 Game 1 Pistons/Bulls

Bulls/Pistons
Palace at Auburn Hills
Detroit, Michigan
Time: 7:00 (TBD)
Network: TNT
Date: Saturday

Our first second round appearance in 9 years and it is sweet finally getting back. The Pistons recently swept the lowly Magic rather easily. This will defiantly be the best 2nd round matchup in the playoffs. The Bulls beat the Pistons 3 times this year out of 4.

The video above can be seen here.

Classic Bulls/Pistons:

Bulls:
PG: Kirk Hinrich
SG: Ben Gordon
SF: Luol Deng
PF: PJ Brown
C: Ben Wallace

How SWEEP It Is!

For the first time in 9 years the Bulls have won a playoff series!
I didn't watch any of the game but I am impressed with our stats and bring on those Detroit Pistons.

Party Like It's 1998?

The Bulls can win their first series since 1998.
Time: Noon
Network: ABC
Place: Miami

Lets sweep the Heat!

Friday, April 27, 2007

Warriors FTW

Wow the Warriors are really shocking everyone but let me first say that crowd in Oakland tonight was loud as hell and they stayed for like 25 minutes after the game. Those fans deserve a winner after the years they have gone thru.
I think the Warriors can win the series but they need to win game 4.
I can't wait to see the look on Cuban's face when they lose.

Bulls KO Heat

It looks all but over. The Chicago Bulls once again beat the Heat thanks a lot to Ben Gordon. Luol Deng did not have the best of nights nor did Chapu. Ben Wallace was great defensivly and I even want to give credit to Duhon. Antoine Walker even scored 2 points for us.
Bring the brooms out. Sweep the Heat!

White Hot Heat Vs Red Hot Bulls

Time: 6:30 PM
Place: American Airlines Arena Miami Florida
Network: Comcast SportsNet with Red, Dore, and King or ESPN with hopefully not Bill Walton and hopefully Hubie Brown.

To all our dismay the Miami Heat promotion White Hot Heat is back again. Hopefully that won't shut us down as we are going to try and go up 3-0 in the series and put a dagger in it. If we lose this game, the Heat will have a lot of momentum going into game 4 and may tie this series up so this is a very important game. Since the Heat are home, I expect them to get much more calls then they did in Chicago and if they don't expect them to go crazy and expect some ejections like last year when Haslem got ejected and suspened in game 1 for throwing his mouthpiece at Jerry Crawford or when James Posey got ejected in game 3 for shoving Kirk Hinrich and later Walker lost his cool.

I expect to see the same lineups nothing changed.
Go Bulls!

Boom...Here Comes The Boom

Yes this had to be the best Bulls game I have seen this year. The crowd was rowdy with the "Posey Sucks" chants and the "Beat the Heat" chant and our team played well. Ben Gordon was locked in tonight as was Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuol Deng. Nocioni had 7 points in 20 seconds and Kirk Hinrich somewhat stayed out of foul trouble. Best of all, the fans were sent him with big juicy Big Macs courtesy of McDonalds. Eddy Curry is going to get his as I speak. Overall I like our chances to sweep this series but it will be hard in Miami because the refs will make a difference in Miami. GO BULLS!

Next Up: Friday 6:30 ESPN at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
The fans are all gonna be wearing white once again.

Hinrich was fined $25,000 for throwing his mouthguard.
My question....Why haven't any of the whining Heat gotten fines yet?
Another question....Since when does throwing a plastic mouthguard worth $25,000?

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Where will the Sonics go?

Places They Could Move:
Vancouver-Yeah Right they already failed.
Calgary- Could be another great option. Watching their hockey fans on TV they are really into the game. I don't know how much they are into basketball though.
Boise- May have some support but will not happen.
San Diego- Nope they failed already.
Chicago- Could use another team. Bulls sold out every game this year and have one of the bigger stadiums. Not gonna happen though.
St. Louis- The Cardinal fans there are great and loud. Not gonna happen.
Oklahoma City- I have seen good things and bad things with the Hornets there. Their crowd is really into it.
Las Vegas- Best bet. Stern wants it. They need a pro team there.

Bulls Win Game 1

What a great effort by Luol Deng who some people said fails during big games but he proved everyone wrong tonight. Ben Gordon had an okay game and Hinrich was just awful but the refs had something to do with that. The MVP for this game was Thabo. He really surprised everyone today.

Stadiums Of The NBA: TD Banknorth Garden

Home of the Boston Celtics
Capacity
18,624 (basketball)
17,565 (hockey)
19,580 (maximum)

My Ranking:
3 out of 5 stars

TD Banknorth Garden, named after its sponsor, TD Banknorth, is often called simply the Garden, or the traditional Boston Garden and formerly known as the FleetCenter and the Shawmut Center, is a sports arena in the North End neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It is the home arena for the Boston Bruins, an NHL team, and the Boston Celtics, an NBA team. It is site of the annual Beanpot, and hosts the annual Hockey East Championships. The arena has also hosted many major national sporting events including the 1999 and 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds and the 2006 Women's Final Four. In addition, the facility has hosted the 2001 US Figure Skating Championships, the 1996 and 2000 US Gymnastics Trials, the 2004 and 1998 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship (aka the Frozen Four), the 1996 NHL All-Star Game, and the World Wrestling Federation's WrestleMania XIV in 1998. It has also hosted the 2000 King Of The Ring, 2003 Royal Rumble and 2006 SummerSlam. Like most sports arenas, it also hosts other events, such as concerts, shows, conventions, graduations, seminars, ice shows, circuses, and most notably the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

TD Banknorth Garden is one of three NBA arenas (Target Center in Minneapolis (home of the Minnesota Timberwolves) and Amway Arena in Orlando (home of the Orlando Magic) with parquet floors. The Celtics are best known for the tradition of the parquet floor, originally built after World War II because of cost and the scarcity of lumber in that time. However, a traditional floor was used in the 2006 NCAA Women's Final Four.

Oden To The NBA

I don't have much information on this yet and will add some later but ESPNews is reporting Greg Oden will go to the NBA which means Mike Conley Jr. should follow him make this draft EVEN DEEPER!

Knicks Eliminated From Playoff Contention..Bulls Lottery

Zeke

Thanks Isiah.
With the Knicks loss to the Nets today (oddly enough the Nets scored 100) the Knicks are officially mathematically eliminated from the playoffs meaning we now clinch a lottery pick.
The Knicks may not win another game this season and may fall down to as much as spot #5!

Inspirational Video

I am sure you have all seen this video of the autistic kid that gets 20 points in a game but I want to show it to you again

Dr. Hibbert and Jeff Green Declare For Draft

http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10125430
Another great day for the Bulls future wise as Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green announced today they are going to test the NBA waters.
This is good news for us because Roy Hibbert would be our best pick if we got picks other than 1 and 2.
This draft is looking to match the 2003 draft depth when they had LeBron, Wade, and Carmelo. If Oden declares this draft just gets deeper.

Bulls Big Board:
1. Oden-Obvious pick if we get #1 which probably will not happen.
2. Durant- Would bring finally a low post presence to this organization. He looks a lot like Dirk in my opinion as he can hit shots from the 3 point line and be a great player down low.
3. Brendan Wright- I don't know if he fits in with this team but he is going to be a star.
4. Hibbert- Another low post presence. Could be a dominant player.
5. Yi Jialian- He could be a great player in this league and it will give the Bulls some international attention again.
6. Spencer Hawes- I think Hawes is going to be our pick because the top 4 above should be picked before ours but we have to wait for the lottery to see.
7. Noah- Noah is a winner and that is what Paxson likes. He could be a great player but he could also be a big bust.

Injury Report

Bulls
Chicago has no significant injuries to report. For a full report and the latest on Bulls' injuries, check out the AthletiCo Injury Report at Bulls.com.

Bobcats
Matt Carroll (back spasms) and Gerald Wallace (pain in knees) are day-to-day, while Adam Morrison (left knee sprain) and Jake Voskuhl (left knee) are questionable.

This is a total must win for us. If we win we go ahead of the Cavs again!

Nets: You guys are useless

We needed you tonight Nets but you guys suck big time and I hope we play you in the playoffs. Currently they are down 83-65 in the 4th and they have superstars on their team. Vince Carter and Jason Kidd....any team would want them.
Now we need to go out tomorrow and beat the Bobcats to hang onto the #2 seed. A loss puts us behind the Cavs.

U.S. Olympic Bid to be Announced Saturday

Chicago and Los Angeles are awaiting the USOC's decision on who will be the United States' candidate for hosting the 2016 Olympics. The decision will come Saturday.

Bulls Road To The Playoffs

I love this Bulls team. We have so many stars. Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Noc, Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas, and Chris Duhon.
  1. Home Opener Vs Kings
  2. December 27 Vs Heat (Posey Game)
  3. Home Win VS Pistons in January
  4. January 25 upset of the Mavericks
  5. Redd Vs Gordon/Bulls Comeback in Milwaukee http://youtube.com/watch?v=hkrc9ED8U14
To top this all off I am going to game 5 in the first round and this will be my first NBA playoff game ever.

We have seen the ups and downs of a team this year. From the beginning of the year when people were complaining about Skiles starting Duhon over Gordon to the Tyrus Thomas show. This kid is the real deal.

Normally I am a Cubs fan all year round and do not watch the Bulls all too much but this team is so fun to watch and I think we could go far and even the future looks bright for us.

We are currently hold the 8th spot in the lottery thanks to those Big Mac hatin' Knicks so we should add another star on this team for next year making us more dangerous.

Currently we need to watch our 2nd spot as the Nets are playing the Cavs right now. If the Cavs lose and we win tomorrow and clinch the 2nd seed in like 2 games we should think about tanking against the Nets in our season finale so we can play the injury depleted Wizards in the first round.

Whatever happens this year this team was fun to watch and I had a great time.
